MANU Biosphere Reserve
|
Manu, the National Park, is practically a virgin wild land located in the city of Madre de Dios, in the southeast from Peru.
This is a rainforest zone that protect over 3 millions hectares of untamed, sparsely inhabited forests.
The geography of the reserve ranges from mountain grasslands at 13000 ft. above sea level to the lowlands at 1000 ft. in the Amazon jungle of southeastern Peru. In 1977, UNESCO declared this region a Biosphere Reserve and is one of the only reserves in the world that protects an entire unhunted and unlogged watershed.
Thanks to this protection, Manu boasts many species of animals, including over 1000 species of birds, 200 species of mammals and 15000 species of plants.

| MANU GRAND TOUR (8Days / 7Nights) |
Fixed departures, year-round, Tue - Tue or Fri – Fri, from Cuzco.
-Access to the reserve is from Cuzco and a 45-minute flight by twin-engine plane (charter plane) to Boca Manu, where is an airship.
From there, travel 4 hour by boat to the Manu Lodge, which overlooks a tranquil oxbow lake. Using the Manu Lodge as a base, you can travel by boat up or down river for day trips or overnight camping trips to other lakes. |

-Travel deep into the pristine waters of the Upper Madre de Dios River to visit the glorious and colorful park. During your tour, you will see giant otters, razor-billed curassows, macaws, eagles, jaguars, ocelots, peccaries, tapirs, monkeys, caimans, and much more.
And you can also hike in the virgin rainforest and climb into the dense upper canopy.
-Package includes transfers, charter flight and accommodation at the Manu Lodge, all meals and guided excursions (by a professional naturalistic guide), entrance fee to the National Park of Manu.

| THE CLOUD FOREST (3Days/2Nights) |
Daily departures from Cuzco.
-Flight from Cuzco by twin-engine plane (charter plane) to Boca Manu, where is an airship. From there, travel 4 hour by boat to the Manu Lodge.
-This paradise of orchids and waterfalls is home to Andean Condors, the famous “Cock of the Rocks”, wooly monkeys and puma.

The park protects all the ecological zones that exist in the Amazon Basin, covering an altitudinal gradient between 150 and 4200 meters above sea level. Because of this variety, its biodiversity is one of the most appreciated in the world. Overall, more than 15,000 species of plants are found in the park, and up to 250 varieties of trees have been found in a single hectare. The reserve is a destination for birdwatchers from all over the world. |
