| THE HIGHLIGHTS OF ECUADOR: GUAYAQUIL, GALAPAGOS CRUISE AND QUITO (8D/7N) |
Upon arrival in Guayaquil, you are transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. The next morning, flight out to San Cristobal to board Galapagos Cruise.
The cruise takes you to Baquerizo Moreno (on San Cristobal), Punta Suarez, Punta Cormorant, Puerto Ayora, Charles Darwin Station (Santa Cruz), Island Plaza, Ochoa Beach (San Cristobal) and then back to Quito by plane. In Quito, you will be treated to a city tour and the following day, a tour to visit the Indian Market at Otavalo or Ambato.
These markets are different every day of the week, but all are colorful and good bargains of Indian products, arts and crafts, flowers, fruits and leather goods. You will also be taken along the Avenue of Volcanoes, whose name comes from the andean range flanked by more than ten snow-capped volcanoes.

Leaving from Quito, we go to Riobamba for the night. On the way, stop in Calderon.
This cute village is known for its hand-made bread figures. A second stop in Otavalo Market, accommodation at Hosteria Chorlavi. Next day, a visit to San Antonio de Ibarra, home of the beautiful wood carvings. Changing direction now to the south, stop in Pujili Indian Market.
Accommodation at Hacienda La Cienaga from the 17th century. The fourth day we will drive to Baños. On the way to Riobamba, where we will spend the night stop in Guano, where the most beautiful hand-made rugs are made. The fifth day we will go to Cuenca by car and train. The sixth day we will visit Bulcay, Gualaceo and Chordeleg. Return to Cuenca for overnight. Seventh day, a visit to the straw hats and ceramics factory. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Quito. Transfer to your hotel. The last day you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Package does not include air ticket Cuenca-Quito or your stay in Quito. |

| JUNGLE ADVENTURE: THE AMAZON BASIN (3D/2N) |
If your time is limited, this is the ideal tour: a three day trip taking the Northern Highway in the Amazon region to Misahuali or Puerto Napo. In the afternoon, a first look at the jungle. Next day, explore the tropical vegetation and get to see some of the indians in the area.
Then return to Quito, in the morning of the third day. Available also: Sacha lodge (Coca), La Selva (Lake Garzacocha, Coca), Kapawi Ecological Reserve (Macas, The Achuar Indian Community), Casa del Suizo. |

Giant tortoises are characteristic of certain reptilian tropical island wildlife. They occur (some species are now extinct) in such places as Madagascar, the Seychelles, Mauritius, Réunion, the Galápagos Islands, Sulawesi, Timor, Flores and Java, often reaching enormous size — they can weigh as much as 300kg (or the weight of 3-4 grown men). |
