CUZCO
CHOQUEKIRAW, THE GOLDEN CRADLE

The archeological complex of Choquequiraw , is part of group of Andean cities , developed in the mountain area of Vilcabamba.
They are in a wild area surrounded by vegetation, in a sub tropical clime with an average temperature of 70F. (16C.) year around. It has an altitude of 3,033 mts. (12,000 ft.) over sea level and has an extension of 22,000 square meters.
Close to the boarder between he province of Cuzco and the province of Apurimac , in the Salcantay mountain chain. Still is missing to "clean" , like 50% of the ruins .
This area was used as a refuge of the last Incas,after the Spaniards arrived in Cuzco on 1536.
The Incas people stay there, until the last Inca, Tupac Amaru I, was captured , in 1572. The Choquequiraw architecture tell us , that construction was during the time of the great Inca Pachacuteq, and artists- mitimanes- from the cities of Kuelap, Pajaten, Rapayuan and Chiprac , participated in the construction.

Day 1: CUZCO :
Arrival, transfer to a hotel. Time to relax and adjust to the altitude. At 2:30pm (estimated) you will be pick up from your hotel for a guided city tour and near by ruins , Sachsayhuaman, Kenko,Tampumachay, and Puka Pukara.
Day 2 : CUZCO/LIMATAMBO/CURAWASI/CACHORA:
By bus, the last part of the way wAlking. A visit to the town of Tarawasi en route. (an archeological site from the Inca times, a palace of a nobleman). We will start at 8am , crossing the Apurimac river ( Apurimac means , The Talking God) by the bridge Cunyac , which is also the limit between the province of Cuzco and Apurimac. until we get to Cachora .
Time to visit the village and talk with the native . 2 hours walking to camping site La Aguada. (2,910mts or 11,500 feet estimated) B/L/D

Day 3 : AGUADA/ROSALINA/ SANTA ROSA:
After breakfast, trekking and horse, down hill You will enjoy beautiful views of the glaciers and the canyon of the Apurimac river ( means, talking god in Quechua language) (2,800 mts or 11,7oo feet) B/L/D
Day 4 : SANTA ROSA /CHOQUQUIRAW:
Breakfast. After 1 hour trekking and horse ridding, will will visit in the afternonn , for the first time CHOQUEQUIRAO . (3,103 mts - 12,000 Ft). B/L/D
Day 5 : CHOQUEQUIRAW MARAMPATA/SANTA ROSA/ ROSALINA:
In the morning, a second visit to CHOQUEQUIRAW . Down hill to a beach of the Apurimac River B/L/D
Day 6: ROSALINA/ CHIQUISCA/ MIRADOR/CACHORA/CURAWASI/ CUZCO :
Trekking and by horse to Cachora. To Cuzco by bus, en route a visit to the stone of Sayhuite. ( Inca , enormous stone engrave with symmetric figures , stairs and a figure of a feline). Transfer to your hotel. B .
Day 7: CUZCO:
Transfer to your next destination or you can extend your stay in Cuzco for more days. B.
